Clubs & Activities

Chorus /Play: Advisor:  Mrs. Leo (Band Room) Chorus meets after school every week and performances are held twice a year.

The Play is performed during the fall semester. Both onstage and behind the scenes roles are available. See Mrs. Leo for more information.

French Club: Advisor: Madame Schwartz (Rm. 73) French Club Officers organize cultural activities and games for each meeting during Activity period in the Middle School Cafeteria – French cuisine competition days, French holiday celebrations, French movies, French culture trivia days, French game days, etc.

Green Club: Advisor: Mrs. Nemshick  (Rm. 23) The Green Club help maintain the school greenhouse. The Green Club plants, waters, and harvests “fruits of our labor.”  The Green Club also supports the school’s recycling efforts.

Interact Club: Advisor:  Madame Schwartz (Rm. 73) Interact Club, in conjunction with the Mountain Top Rotary Club, is a service based organization.  Interact Club members, work out in the community, volunteering their time and talent in a multitude of capacities.

Key Club: Advisor:  Mrs. Kline (Room 219)  Key Club members volunteer in the community through various events and activities throughout the school, such as Trunk or Treat near the end of October or fundraising for the Food Bank.

Literary magazine: Advisor:  Mr. Reznak (Room 5) Students work to gather literary submissions during meetings and then work to compile them to a publish a literary magazine that is available to the student body.

Math Club: Advisor:  Mrs. Kreider (Rm. 52) The club meets during Activity Period in Room 52. The Math Club participates in PA Math League Contests during meetings. The Math Club also sells Pi Day t-shirts in March. Go to Room 52 for more information.

Model UN Club: Advisor: Mr. Healey (Rm. 47)

National Honor Society: Advisors:  Mrs. Zanolini (Rm.27)

PJAS: Advisor:  Mrs. Harper (Rm. 54) First meeting will be in October. PJAS is for students who are interested in science and math. Students will complete a presentation on a science or math topic and will present their project at the Regional meeting. Students who qualify will go to the State Meeting at Penn State. For more details, come to the meeting during October Activity Period.

Science Olympiad: Advisors:  Mrs. Zanolini (Rm.27) Science Olympiad is a middle school and high school competition in which students compete in events revolving around different science topics. See Mrs. Gryzkewicz or Mrs. Zanolini for information on joining the team.

Student Government: Advisor:  Mr. Matyas (Room 51). Meetings will be arranged by the Student Government President. Meetings will be announced on the AM and PM announcements. Members of Student Government will represent Crestwood High School. Student Government raises money and supports activities at CHS. See Mr. Matyas in Room 25 to get involved.

Trout in the Classroom: Advisor:  Mrs. Nemshick (Rm.23) Do you like to fish?  Do you like fish?  A small group of students are needed to set up, maintain, and run the fish tank. The Trout Club will receive brook trout eggs through the Trout in the Classroom program and raise them throughout the school year. Daily feeding, tank cleaning, and water testing are required. Trout Club will meet during Homeroom from October through May during Activity Period
